Theta Healing and Fertility
15/01/2010 by amymarner.
Theta Healing is and energy healing which allows us to explore and release the memories we hold which may be blocking our full potential. The Fertility Solutions Programme uses Theta Healing and Hypnosis to gently discover and release any beliefs, memories or emotions that may be blocking conception. The process can also address physical symptoms such as PCOS.
<!–[if !supportEmptyParas]–> Tracy Holloway developed the Fertility Solutions Programme after years of working in the area of fertility. Tracy has worked as a Hypnotherapist, Psychologist and Theta Practitioner who is renowned in the area of fertility. She has brought together her rich knowledge and experience to develop the unique programme which explores the well being of the whole person in order to support their reproductive health.
<!–[if !supportEmptyParas]–> Using Theta Healing it is possible to address physical symptoms which may be affecting fertility, for example PCOS, Fibroids, Endometriosis and Sperm motility (to name a few). It is also possible to address emotional issues which affect couples who are experiencing fertility challenges. Many of my female clients will talk to me about their grieving each time their period arrives. They describe their fertility journey as a roller coaster ride. They have hope during the month then the grieving starts as their cycle begins again. Using the Fertility Solutions Programme it is possible for women to view each cycle as a positive thing, their body is working in the way that will make pregnancy possible at some point in the future, rather than a setback. Sometimes a simple relieving of stress is enough to support conception.
<!–[if !supportEmptyParas]–> One thing that is important to remember is each couple is unique, their journey is unique and they will conceive in their own time. In other words it’s best not to compare yourselves with others because everyone’s journey is different. Using the Fertility Solutions programme it is possible to address the emotional stresses and strains and focus on other areas of your life (enjoying your relationship for example) rather than relying on conception to bring happiness. By addressing both physical and emotional aspects of fertility it is possible to have your best chance of conception.

Coping on your Fertility Journey
20/11/2009 by amymarner.
Fertility problems are one of the most stressful experiences to go through. What is more a lot of people do not understand what it is like for couples experiencing problems. Often couples who have been planning for a baby for years are asked “When are you going to start a family?” This can only add to the stress, particularly if the couple have decided not to tell others about their fertility challenges. What is more high stress levels are known to reduce the chances of conception so it is very important for couples to reduce their stress levels as best they can.
Mind/body techniques can be really helpful when dealing with the stress Fertility issues can bring. Meditating is great because it brings stillness to the mind relieving it of all the clutter that we tend to live with on a day-to-day basis. Regularly meditating can help to reduce that clutter at other times. If you are someone who finds meditating difficult listening to a CD of guided meditation can be helpful to start with. It’s a question of finding what works best for you.
Practicing being mindful during day-to-day tasks is also a helpful way to reduce stress. For example being mindful whilst eating means that you smell the food. Look at the colour. Be aware of the texture in your mouth. Really taste it as you chew. Take your time. You can apply this mindfulness to anything; just make sure you are using all your senses to do it.
Of course Fertility Solutions can help too. Using Theta Healing it is possible to reduce stress levels and using the Fertility Solutions Programme means you will not only reduce your stress levels but also give yourself the best chance of conceiving be it naturally or with medical intervention. Hypnosis and Fertility
16/11/2009 by amymarner.
Hypnosis is a natural state that we all enter daily. It’s those times when your imagination is active, so watching a film or reading a book. If you are immersed in the story and your imagination is involved that is hypnosis. You are completely in control and free to leave it at anytime. Our subconscious does not know the difference between our imagination and reality so we can use our imagination to access the subconscious and create what we want in our lives.
Using hypnosis is a great way to address fertility, because we can access our imagination and address what is going on in our subconscious. For example we may have spent years trying not to get pregnant, our subconscious may not have caught up with our new plans to start a family so using the imagination we can show the subconscious what we really want and it can catch up. This then supports our body to conceive.
We may often have negative thoughts running through our minds, worry creating more worry and affecting our well-being. Our negative thoughts can affect our hormonal balance but with hypnosis it is possible to bring them back to a healthy equilibrium therefore supporting conception.
Fertility Solutions hypnosis CDs have been developed by Tracy Holloway (a qualified hypnotherapist and renowned fertility specialist) in order to prepare the subconscious mind for conception. The powerful CDs begin with deep relaxation; this prepares your mind for suggestion and supports you to release stress. Once you have listened for at least a week to the first CD you can move on to the next. Each one brings you relaxation and prepares the body for conception. Some are designed specifically for those who are planning to conceive naturally, others support assisted conception and there are also CDs for those who have experienced miscarriage and fear their body cannot support a healthy baby.
These powerful CDs go hand in hand with the Fertility Solutions Programme but can also be very effective in their own right. For more details and to buy online click here.

NPT-an alternative to IVF
03/06/2009 by admin.
Is there an alternative for couples who don’t want IVF? NaPro Technology claims to be less invasive, cheaper and more successful
For anyone who has visited the plush offices of a private IVF consultant, arriving at the HQ of FertilityCare may seem underwhelming. Housed in a small, flat-roof extension of a Victorian building on a side street in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, the rooms are small, sparsely furnished and anonymous; there is no sign of the obligatory pinboard crammed with snaps of babies — a reassuring testament to any clinic’s success rate. “We haven’t got round to putting that up yet,” says Dr Anne Carus, the medical consultant, apologetically. The company has been in its new offices for a only few months.
FertilityCare does not offer IVF to its clients, but is the UK’s biggest provider of NaPro Technology, or Natural Procreative Technology (NPT). Developed and still mainly taught at the Pope Paul VI Institute in Nebraska, NPT is offered to couples as an “ethical alternative” to assisted reproductive techniques. As it is a Roman Catholic organisation, the couples must be married. There is no egg selection, no donor insemination and no embryo wastage.
It has been embraced enthusiastically in countries with large Catholic populations, such as the US, the Irish Republic and Poland, and claims to have a success rate that equals or even betters that of IVF, but promises to be much less invasive. Now, after years on the fringes of fertility treatment, NaPro is slowly establishing itself in Britain.

Other Signs Of Ovulation-Basal Body Temperature Rises-BBT
05/11/2008 by admin.
How to take your Basal Body Temperature (BBT)
1. Taking Your BBT Temperature
Your Basal Body Temperature is probably best taken orally (simplest in my opinion ), by placing the thermometer under your tongue. BBT temperature refers to a ‘resting’ or ‘base’ temperature. That means that your BBT must be measured before activity, after at least four hours of sleep. Take your BBT temperature first thing each morning (ideally at the same time each morning) - as soon as you wake up and before you get out of bed or have a cup of tea! Other things such as hot drinks, infections, illness etc can affect your BBT reading.
2. Charting Your BBT Temperature
Starting on day one of your menstrual cycle - the first day of your period - begin recording your BBT temperature using graph paper. Each morning, record your temperature. Plot each day’s BBT on the a graph. Your temperature rise may be sudden, gradual, or in steps. The pattern may vary from cycle to cycle.
3. Predicting Ovulation
Typically a rise of at least 0.4 to 0.6 degrees centigrade or will take place at ovulation, though for different women the temperature increases may be sudden or gradual. Over time, charting you BBT will help you predict ovulation.
It is important to remember that the rise in your BBT (basal body temperature) does not tell you when you are most fertile or about to ovulate. It tells you when you already have ovulated. Women are most fertile in the few days before their peak temperature.

Signs of Ovulation-Cervical Mucus Changes
04/11/2008 by admin.
I think I’m ovulating -how can I tell ?
Cervical mucus is clear, sticky & kind of stringy just before ovulation-this is called Spinbarkeit mucus (I think-I will check spelling later) and signifies the most fertile time of the cycle. This slippery stretchy cervical mucus resembles uncooked egg whites.
It is this clear, wet & stringy ’egg-white type’ cervical mucus, which helps the sperm move freely from the vagina, through the cervix, and into the uterus in search of an newly released egg. This is the most fertile time in a woman’s cycle.
p.s I looked it up online and it looks like this fertile cervical mucus is called Spinbarkeit mucus although I found a couple of different spellings-not sure which was in right.

What is Natural Procreative Technology ? (NPT)
18/09/2008 by admin.
I’ve just found the original published research article from The Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine which makes fascinating reading. Click on the link below to read it-I promise its not a long article, fairly concise and to the point for a medical research article IMO
http://www.jabfm.org/cgi/content/short/21/5/375
These quotes are from the article above it seems NPT is a ’systematic medical approach for optimizing physiologic conditions for conception in vivo’
’couples were taught to identify the fertile days of the menstrual cycle with the Creighton Model FertilityCare System, and most received additional medical treatment, including clomiphene (75%)’
Next question-what is the Creighton Model FertilityCare System ?

Natural fertility methods better than IVF
18/09/2008 by admin.
I just read this really interesting and slightly controversial article online
It is taken from From September 14, 2008
A Dublin- based study carried out by Utah University in America has questioned the effectiveness of IVF
Natural fertility treatment is more effective than in-vitro fertilisation (IVF), according to new research by the University of Utah in America.
It found that one in four of the 1,100 couples treated with natural methods in a clinic in Galway had successful pregnancies using natural procreative technology treatment (NPT). This compares with the most recent European success rates of 18.4% for IVF.
The research, published last week in the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine, has been disputed by Tony Walsh, director of the Sims Fertility Clinic in Dundrum, Dublin. He claimed the study was not scientifically sound and did not constitute proof that NPT gives comparable live birthrates to IVF. The clinic has sent a letter to the journal outlining its argument.
But the study is being hailed as a landmark paper by supporters of NPT, as it is the first research into the effectiveness of the method to be published in a peerreviewed medical journal. It also found that the number of multiple births resulting from NPT was significantly lower than using artificial methods, with only 4.6% of women becoming pregnant with more than one child.
This compares with multiple birth rates of 34% recorded in a recent American study of couples undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART).
Joseph Stanford from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, the main author, said that he hoped the research would help overcome the “current information deficit” surrounding NPT.
“Many GPs and obstetricians are not aware of NPT because of a lack of published studies,” he said. “Now physicians can inform themselves of this treatment approach and hopefully recommend it to their patients.”
Read the rest of the article here http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/ireland/article4749677.ece
I have not heard of NPT before so I am now going to look it up and post what I find. If anyone knows more please feel free to comment
